I am a Ph.D. student in the Data Science in Systems Biology and am working on a project to expanding protein-protein interaction networks on the level of isoforms.
Before joining the group as a Ph.D. student, I already worked with them and a project partner at the Medical University of Innsbruck on Omnideconv, an R package combining second-generation methods for cell-type deconvolution.
I worked a lot with machine learning to create tools for researchers, like in my Master thesis, where I used the clustering of network embeddings to explore the metabolomic and genetic workings of Alzheimer's disease or like in a project at Stanford University, where we classified images of skin lesions to detect monkeypox.
Throughout my studies I was supervising lectures, projects and internships and enjoyed working with students from all stages of their degree. I am excited to continue this during my Ph.D.
