A sweet spot to attain. Bioinformatics to me is a sweet spot between biology, statistics, computer science and mathematics. I started my journey in bioinformatics as a master student conducting a Differential Gene Expression (DER) project as my master thesis and continued this journey to realm of 16S rRNA gene analysis during my PhD. I started developing analytical tools and methods for 16S rRNA analyses to address needs of the Collaborative Research Center (CRC) 1371 initiative aiming to understand the functional relevance of microbiome signatures.
Since 2023 I have been working as a member of Data Science in Systems Biology (DaiSyBio) group where I resume my work on 16S rRNA and journey in bioinformatics.
