The identification of protein-protein interactions is an important step in understanding signal-transduction pathways. The combination of mass spectrometry (MS) and biochemical methods is a powerful approach to investigate these interactions. In this MSc project potential interaction partners of the Discoidin Domain Receptor 1 (DDR1), previously identified by MS, are validated using biochemical and cell culture methods, including the establishment of co-immunoprecipitation assays in several cell lines and organs. The overall aim of this work is to contribute to a better understanding of the role of DDR1 in signal-transduction pathways in cancer and fibrosis.
