Post Doctoral Reserachers
Dr. Anna Burrichter Georga

Title Dr. rer. nat.
anna.burrichter(at)tum.de
Anna obtained her master’s degree in Life Science. She then pursued a PhD in microbiology focusing on the anaerobic bacterial metabolism of organosulfonates, a class of compounds widespread in the environment and in food, both from natural and artificial origins. There, she developed expertise in anaerobic microbiology, analytical chemistry and an interest in cross-disciplinary work. After completing her thesis in 2020, Anna joined the Stecher lab to expand her microbial research into the metabolism of bacterial communities and their response to changing environments. She works to integrate experimental data into mathematical simulations to model these intricate networks.
Funfact: Anna enjoys mountain sports, gardening and running
