Metabolic Programming
Nuclear Hormone Receptors in Health and Disease
Our research focuses on genomic mechanisms involved in metabolic physiology, with a special focus on nuclear hormone receptors and their co-regulators. We combine mouse genetics with cutting-edge genomics, proteomics and metabolomics techniques to uncover novel networks controlling the expression of metabolic and inflammatory genes. Together with bioinformatics and molecular biology experiments, we aim to identify novel drug targets as a joint appointment with the Helmholtz Diabetes Center (HDC) in Neuherberg. Hot topics currently include nutritional genomic programming affecting aging and longevity and the interactions between diet and stress responses.
