Sureshkumar Balasubramanian (06/1998 - 06/2002).
A graduate student who came from the IISc in Bangalore, India. He was instrumental in working out many details of NZZ function. At the time this picture was taken he still had hairs... He moved on to do a postdoc in Detlef Weigel`s lab at the Max-Plank-Institute of Developmental Biology in Tübingen, Germany. In summer 2007 he moved on to become a faculty member at the School of Integrative Biology, University of Queensland in Brisbane, Australia. Later he moved on to become a faculty member at the Dept. of Biol. Sciences, Monash University in Melbourne. His email address is mb.suresh(at)monash.edu

Martine Batoux (04/2014 - 06/2007).
A graduate student who came from the University of Dijon. She worked on a structure-function analysis of SUB and isolated very interesting putative interaction partners of SUB. She moved on to work on plant-pathogen interactions and to do a postdoc with Cyril Zipfel at that time at the Sainsbury lab in Norwich, UK.

Ajeet Chaudhary (03/2014 - 09/2020).
An excellent graduate student who came from ICGEB in New Dehli. He worked on SUB signaling. He did wonderful work and established the important role of SUB in cell wall integrity signaling. He moved on to work as a postdoc in the Wang lab at the Dept. of Plant Biology, The Carnegie Institution for Science at Stanford, CA, USA.

David Chevalier (07/1998 - 08/2003). A graduate student out of INRA, Montpellier, France. He did the cloning and most of the inital characterisation of SUB. He continued his career as a postdoc with John Walker in Columbia, Missouri, USA. Now he is a faculty member at Mississippi State University. His email address is dchevalier(at)biology.msstate.edu

Balaji Enugutti (06/2006 - 10/2012). A graduate student and postdoc out of IISc in Bangalore, India. He cloned UCN and undertook the essential steps in the early analysis of UCN signaling. He proceeded to work on stem cell development in Drosophila and mouse with Juergen Knoblich in at the IMBA in Vienna, Austria. His email address is balaji.enugutti(at)imba.oeaw.ac.at

Banu Eyueboglu (02/2003 - 06/2008).
A graduate student. She workded on the SRF family of receptor kinases. She moved back to Turkey to take up an industry position in Istanbul.

Angelika Fuchs (10/2002 - 10/2003).
A BSc student that did her BSc thesis in the lab. She helped a lot with the characterization of the SRF family of receptor kinases. Her email address is angiefuchs(at)aol.com

Lynette Fulton (12/2003 - 06/2011).
An Australian postdoc who was instrumental in the isolation and molecular characterization of additional components of the SUB pathway. In addition, she essentially managed the lab. After a long stay she and her family moved back to Melbourne, where she joined the lab of Sureshkumar Balasubramanian at the Dept. of Biological Sciences, Monash University. Jin Gao (09/2014 - 02/2019).
A hardworking graduate student out Northwest AF University, Yang Ling, PR China. She worked on SUB signaling. She established the endocytotic pathway of SUB. She went back to China and became a scientist at the Henan Normal University in Xinxiang, PR China.

Sophia Mersmann (06/2005 - 06/2006).
A diploma student doing very nice work on interactors of STRUBBELIG. She moved on to do a PhD in the lab of Silke Robatzek at the MPI für Züchtungsforschung in Cologne, Germany.

Maxi Oelschner (06/2009 - 03/2012).
An excellent technician and the soul of the lab. Unfortunately for us she decided that four hours commute a day is too much for her... At the time of this writing she worked for a research lab in the hospital of her home town Regensburg

Jany Pleßmann (06/2012 - 02/2017).
A hardworking PhD student who did a detailed study on UCN genetics. After his stay with us he moved on to work with Eurofins.

Karen Pfister (02/2003 - 06/2008).
A graduate student out of TU Dresden. She worked on the SRF family of receptor kinases.

Antje Redweik (09/1995 - 03/1999).
An excellent former technician. She went on to a lab in Canada, returned to Zurich and, at the time of this writing we have lost track of her.

Maja Schellenberg (03/1999 - 06/2002).
An excellent technician and the heart of the lab. Unfortunately, she choose to stay at the Institute of Plant Biology, University of Zurich rather than move with us to Munich in June 2002.

Uschi Schiefthaler (01/1998 - 02/2001).
A postdoc from Austria. She was able to clone NOZZLE (NZZ). She managed to get her work done AND to get two babies.... After the second baby she choose to stay at home for a while and to take care of her two boys.

Sebastian Scholz (11/2012 - 12/2018).
A graduate student who came from the University of Erlangen. He did really nice work on the interaction of UNICORN with PDK1. He became a school teacher in Berlin.

Patrick Sieber (01/1999 - 06/2003).
A graduate student who joined the lab from the University of Fribourg and the Dept. of Plant Biology, Carnegie Institution of Washington, Stanford, USA. He analysed interaction partners of NZZ. He went on to do a postdoc in Elliot Meyerowitz' lab at the CalTech in Pasadena. Afterwards he joined Actelion. His email address is patrick.sieber@actelion.com

Christine Skornia (02/2007 - 12/2011).
A bioinformatics graduate from the TUM who joined the lab to do "real" experiments. She analysed interaction partners of SRF4.

Rachele Tofanelli (07/2017 - 09/2021).
A PhD student who joined the lab from the University of Padua. She developed new deep imaging methodology and was involved in generating the first 3D digital ovules with full cellular resolution. After her successful PhD she moved on to industry.

Prasad Vaddepalli (07/2007 - 01/20017).
A great PhD student and postdoc. He did much of the molecular characterization of SUB structure-function architecture, established that SUB and QKY specifically interact at PD and performed the molecular characterization of ZET. He went on to do a postdoc with Dolf Weijers at Wageningen University.

Athul Vijayan (07/2017 - 09/2021).
A teriffic PhD student who joined from Indian Institute of Science and Research in Mohali, India. He made numerous contributions to the 3D digital ovule project generating the first 3D digtial atlas of Arabidopsis ovule development. He was instrumental in getting it off the ground. After his successful PhD he went on to do a postdoc with Miltos Tsiantis at the MPI in Cologne, Germany.

Claudia Wolf (06/2004 - 06/2005).
A diploma student who joined the lab from the biology curriculum at the TUM. She analysed interaction partners of SUB.

Ram Kishor Yadav (11/2002 - 06/2007).
A graduate student who came from the IISc in Bangalore, India. Ram investigated SUB signal transduction and became a real expert in bioimaging. He went to the US and became a postdoc in the lab of Venugopala Reddy Gonehal at the Center of Plant Cell Biology, UC Riverside.
