The Chair for Proteomics and Bioanalytics located on the Weihenstephan Campus is seeking a full time
Senior PostDoc
in Bioinformatics or Computational Biology
with a strong background, interest and track record in proteomics and/or multi-omics data integration.
Position: The successful candidate will be a key member of a strong interdisciplinary team focused on the development and application of proteomic approaches to cellular signaling pathways, chemical biology and biomarker discovery in the area of cancer research. The focus of this position is on the development and implementation of data integration methods to harness the full potential of high-throughput biology and chemistry technologies as well as the development of associated data visualization and mining tools.
Requirements: PhD in Bioinformatics, Informatics or a related discipline, 1-3 years additional experience in a proteomics or genomics laboratory and a significant publication record. Extensive theoretical knowledge of and practical skills in statistical analysis, relational database technology, programming and scripting are essential. Additional desirable skills include a sound understanding of proteomic technologies, cellular biology and signaling, and experience in computational chemical biology or chemoinformatics, systems biology and network analysis.

Flexibility and the ability to work in a multidisciplinary environment on multiple scientific and infrastructure projects focused on innovative scientific ideas are essential. Communication skills and experience in presenting concepts and data are also important.
