Fluorescence Resonance Energy Transfer (FRET) is a powerful tool to detect protein binding, providing spatial and temporal information about the interaction. A FRET system was constructed to investigate protein interactions in the B cell receptor signaling pathway by fusing a receptor domain and the corresponding ligand domain to the fluorescent proteins CFP and YFP. The aim of this master project is to prove the functionality of this system by testing the behavior of the individual components and to establish the FRET system in living cells.
